Fees and Expenses:

in accordance with University regulations, all students become liable for payment of the full tuition fee on registration.
Some UK students (e.g. many Scottish-domiciled undergraduate students) will have their tuition fee paid on their behalf by an awards agency but it is important that such students make a prompt application to the relevant authority for fee support (see below). Please also note that applications for fee support from award agencies must be made every year – awards are not renewed automatically. In most cases, this application process will also allow undergraduate students to apply for a student loan if this is required.

New undergraduate students from England, Wales or Northern Ireland will be liable to a tuition fee of £1,775 per annum. These students may take out a loan to cover this fee, in addition to any student loan they may take out to cover living costs. Students in this position normally apply for support through their Local Authority (LA) or (in Northern Ireland) the Library Board.

Scottish-domiciled undergraduate students who are liable to meet their own fees will be liable to pay £1,255 per annum instead of £1,775, but should apply to the Student Awards Agency for Scotland for the £520 differential to be paid on their behalf.
(Students unsure of their status in terms of tuition fee support can seek advice from several sources – please see the end of this note for details).

Executive Education:

Tuck’s open programs are learning experiences for a more general audience that focus on a broad general-management topic or drill deeply into a specific area or skill set—or both. Yet, similar to our custom engagements, Tuck open programs offer an intimate, intense learning experience and focus on clients’ real-world needs. Your needs.

Never simply a repetition of trendy business thinking, their programs address specific challenges that are part of what’s happening in business today. And they frame them in a fresh, creative way. In fact, Tuck open programs have become the mainstay of executive education for many world-class organizations, both locally and globally.

Business Bridge Program:

Business skills are valuable, no matter what path you take in life. They’re marketable. They make you infinitely more employable. The Bridge Program is a proven path, a fast-track to mastery of business basics. So, even if you’re not considering a career in finance or management, you should consider Bridge.
One of the first things you’ll learn here is how to work successfully within a team. This cooperative mentality comes from classes and assignments that mirror the working world. It comes from recognizing and playing off the strengths of others. It comes from presenting, as a team, to faculty and being evaluated as a group, not just as an individual.

• Bridge is a four-week, total-immersion program for rising juniors, seniors, and recent graduates of arts and sciences colleges
• Bridge sessions take place at the Tuck School of Business on the campus of Dartmouth College
• Participants live and eat on campus
• Admissions considers undergraduate grades, SAT or ACT scores, and essays
• The cost for 2008 is $9,000, which includes tuition, books, and room and board.
• 2008 Bridge Program sessions take place:
June 9-July 3 and July 14-August 8

And each maintains strong connections to the corporate world, helping to shape the practice of management worldwide.
An incredible thing about their faculty is their accessibility outside of the classroom. One of the reasons they teach at Tuck is because they want the opportunity to know their students as individuals. Their faculties are an integral part of the Tuck community.

Have a question, an idea, a comment? Talk to your professor after class. During their office hours. Over coffee. At dinner. Tuck gives you significant access to outstanding teachers at the forefront of their fields. All of their full-time faculty teach in the MBA program. Students who take part in the program will have the opportunity to earn the MMS degree at Duke after completing SNU’s GMBA program. MMS students will focus on a targeted specialization within their coursework at Duke, with the MMS transcript noting the specific concentration. Areas of concentration currently offered by Duke include: accounting, decision sciences, entrepreneurship and innovation, finance (two options), leadership and ethics, management, marketing (two options), operations management, social entrepreneurship, and strategy.

Students are introduced at the outset of the program not only to rigorous coursework, but also to the research activities of the faculty and of other students.
The PhD program usually requires four to five years of work. The student and the faculty in his/her area determine the specific program of study in accordance with each student’s goals and interests. Duke CE does custom. That is, their programs are designed, developed and delivered specifically for the needs of one company; all its participants are from that company.

With open enrollment programs, on the other hand, a predefined course is offered at a certain date and one or more people from a company attend along with people from many other companies. Their partner institutions, the Fuqua School of Business, the London School of Economics, and the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, offer degree programs as well as open-enrollment programs.

The Stern MBA program gives you the choices and freedom you need to design a course of study that truly meets your individual career goals. The Langone Program: A Part-time MBA for Working Professionals

Consistently ranked as the #1 part-time MBA program in the United States, NYU Stern’s Langone Program offers the same “gold standard” MBA as the full-time program, but with flexible class schedules and innovative curriculum designed to accommodate the needs and responsibilities of working professionals.
In addition to evening and weekend classes, the Langone Program offers compressed courses during the Winter and Late Summer intensive modules, as well as an array of classroom-enhancing online tools, such as threaded discussions, virtual group meetings, and Web-delivered course materials. Langone students have the option to complete their MBA in as few as two years or as many as six. The program’s combination of scheduling flexibility and online access to course materials is drawing part-time students to Stern from as far away as Philadelphia and Baltimore.

“The Langone Program is giving me a wealth of knowledge and exposure to business concepts and business experts I couldn’t get anywhere else in the world. You’re learning from people who work on Wall Street, on Madison Avenue, and in the huge companies of Manhattan. And it’s not just the professors. Langone students are still in their careers and are experts in their own industries. We bring our work experiences into the classroom and our classroom experiences into our workplaces.”

The 16-month TRIUM program consists of six intensive, intellectually rigorous educational modules, two hosted at NYU Stern and one each at LSE, HEC Paris, and in two other international business centers. I’m much more knowledgeable and confident about the latest things like budgeting and people management that come up every day at work. After each module, I go back and think how, practically, am I going to apply what I’ve learned to my job. Because at the end of the day, that’s really what it’s about.”

The NYU Stern Undergraduate Program:

The Undergraduate College at NYU Stern is one of the most selective undergraduate business programs in the country. It is also the oldest of Stern’s constituents and one of the oldest business schools in America. The College’s four-year curriculum effectively integrates liberal arts studies with state-of-the-art training in business administration, while placing a strong emphasis on communication and interpersonal skills, professional ethics and the global dimensions of business today.

NYU Stern’s Undergraduate College is unique among its peers for its focus on international business. It is the only undergraduate business college anywhere to incorporate-and fund-an international business study trip for all its students. From day one, the undergraduate curriculum at NYU Stern provides students with the business knowledge and cultural awareness they’ll need to take maximum advantage of their third-year international term-project and study trip.

“One of the things I love most about Stern is its practicality. Stern isn’t a school where you learn things that you’re never going to use on a day-to-day basis. At the height of the corporate governance scandals, I was taking a seminar in which the CEOs of major companies like American Express and Deloitte & Touche came in to talk to us about what was going on. In one of my marketing classes, the brand managers of a new soft drink discussed the commercials they were making in a basketball court right around the block from us. In my business law class, I actually sat in on the Martha Stewart trial. New York becomes an extension of the classroom at Stern. It has a lot to do with the professors. They’re not just working in academia. They’re out in the field doing the things we hope to do one day.”
Lee Miller
BS 2005

BA in Economics and Management:

The BA in Economics and Management is jointly offered by the Saïd Business School and the Department of Economics. The subjects are ideal intellectual partners, each particularly fitted to strengthen and cross-fertilise the other. Economics provides the broader understanding of economic activity within which all organisations function; management in turn analyses the character and goals of that functioning.
Throughout the degree the theoretical and the applied are firmly welded together, whether in macroeconomics, marketing or information management. Each course orientates its subject in a broad intellectual and social context. Accounting, for example, is not studied simply as a self-contained body of technical expertise (although this is fully covered) but also as a tool for decision-making, for evaluating performance and for understanding the organisation and its positioning and relationships.

While the BA in Economics and Management covers all the core areas of both subjects, it is also notable for the range of options it makes available – some 20 in all. These options allow students great flexibility to compose their own course in accordance with their individual interests and career needs.
For further information, please go to the University of Oxford’s undergraduate prospectus.

Campus:

The courtyard
A key feature of the new building is the provision of informal working areas. There are numerous open spaces throughout, including cloistered walkways and a large internal courtyard – all of which help foster informal interaction between students, faculty and visitors. Professor Anthony Hopwood, formerly Peter Moores Dean of the School, comments: “I call these ‘democratic spaces’ because of the ease of interaction which they facilitate.”

The common room
The common room is a relaxed area for easy socialising with fellow students, faculty and staff. The common room is a large semicircular space with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the School’s landscaped grounds. These contain the Fellow’s Garden, a place for quiet reflection, and the remains of Rewley Abbey, the very first seat of learning in Oxford. During the summer, students can also relax in the large internal courtyard or sit in the 300-seat amphitheatre, which allows excellent views of the surrounding countryside.

The Sainsbury Library
The School’s Library and Information Services comprise the two-floor state-of-the-art Sainsbury Library and the award-winning Virtual Library, an electronic gateway to a wealth of business information. The Sainsbury Library’s lower floor contains the library and IT helpdesk, a short loan collection, a rolling stack, an informal seating area and over 40 study desks, many of which are equipped with PCs. The upper reading room, with its distinctive vaulted ceiling and impressive views, is intended for quiet research and holds 90 fully-networked study desks.

The Nelson Mandela Lecture Theatre
Most classes take place in one of four wood-panelled lecture theatres, with desks, each with its own network connection, arranged in a horseshoe pattern to facilitate open discussion. These theatres contain dual screens to enable simultaneous use of a range of visual media, and there are numerous seminar and project rooms for small group work. There is also a 300-seat theatre to cater for larger-scale lectures.
